Harnessing Local Data to Create the CORE Conditions for: Stable, Affordable Housing & Shelter

Event Date: June 20, 2023

Watch this community conversation about harnessing local data to foster Stable, Affordable Housing & Shelter (one of the eight CORE Conditions for Health & Well-being) so that all community members experience an adequate supply of housing and shelter that is safe, healthy, affordable, and accessible

During this session we explored local, regional, state and national data in the CORE Results Menu on DataShare in order to gather insights, identify trends, and make meaning of data in these Stable, Affordable Housing & Shelter impact areas:

1. Increased inventory of housing, especially affordable housing

2. Increased availability of safe shelter

3. Access to safe, stable, affordable housing

Participants shared their perspectives on these questions:

  • What “stories” do the selected indicators tell about the assets of people/places in our communities?

  • What’s missing? What questions could (or should) we be asking about bias, limits, and context of the data?

  • What programs, practices, and policies exist (or are needed) to create the conditions for Stable, Affordable Housing & Shelter for all community members across the lifespan?

  • How could we build on the available data to measure change, learn what works, and assess our collective impact?

This was the eighth session in an 8-part community conversation designed to dive into the data that can help people identify community strengths and needs, set goals for community well-being, track progress, and connect strategies across the CORE Conditions for Health and Well-being.
