Harnessing Local Data to Create the CORE Conditions for: Healthy Environments
Training Date: February 7, 2023
Watch this community conversation about harnessing local data to foster Healthy Environments (one of the eight CORE Conditions for Health & Well-being) so that all community members in Santa Cruz County experience a clean, safe, sustainable natural environment and a built environment and infrastructure that support health and well-being.
Quality of the natural environment & natural resources
Climate change resiliency
Safe, affordable, accessible recreational spaces
Safe, affordable, accessible transportation system
In this interactive session, participants were asked to share their perspectives on these questions:
What “stories” do the selected indicators tell about the assets of people/places in our communities?
What’s missing? What questions could (or should) we be asking about bias, limits, and context of the data?
What programs, practices, and policies exist (or are needed) to create the conditions for Healthy Environments for all community members across the lifespan?
How could we build on the available data to measure change, learn what works, and assess our collective impact?
This is the sixth session in an 8-part community conversation designed to dive into the data that can help people identify community strengths and needs, set goals for community well-being, track progress, and connect strategies across the CORE Conditions for Health and Well-being.
