Practical Tools to Save Lives from Overdoses

Many of us would like to think that opioid use won’t affect our daily lives, but unfortunately that’s not the case. Family members, colleagues, clients, or friends may be at risk, which means we each may be in a position to help in a crisis like a potential overdose. If that happens, would you know the signs of an overdose if someone near you at school, work, or home experiences them? Would you like to learn about Narcan (the brand name for Naloxone), a life-saving FDA- approved medication that reverses overdose effects from opioids including heroin, fentanyl, oxycodone, and morphine? Do you have questions about Xylazine, a veterinary tranquilizer finding its way into the local opioid supply and scary headlines? What about resources for talking to youth about substance use?
