Transformational Approaches to Creating Economic Equity

Event Date: February 6, 2024

The words “transformational” and “equity” are used frequently, but what does this really mean? At Ventures, it means activating and strengthening the economic and political power of rural, Latino working-class families and co-creating a compassionate, equitable local economy where zip code, race, gender, or immigration status do not dictate income or wealth. It also means examining and disrupting status quo approaches that have historically excluded the Latino community from financial well-being — starting with their own definitions of poverty, wealth, and “the safety net.”
